This Friday, the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Defense and Security Forces, Filipe Nyusi, visited the position of the Rapid Intervention Force in Metuge, Cabo delgado, to salute all the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) engaged in the Northern Operational Theater.

A statement from the presidency points out that in his interaction with the DSF, the Mozambican statesman praised the exemplary work carried out in favor of peace, security and the integrity of the country, through his commitment to fighting terrorism.

"President Nyusi noted that although the terrorists are trying other forms of destabilization, caused by desperation, the forces remain firm and committed to defending the homeland and sovereignty," reads the statement, quoted by Rádio Moçambique.

In the end, the head of state wished the members of the SDS a prosperous 2024, foreseeing a particularly challenging year for the group, especially as it is an election year.
