On Saturday morning (2), an armed group allegedly linked to the Islamic State invaded the town of Quissanga, in Cabo Delgado province.
A publication by VOAThe report, quoting local sources, says that despite the panic felt by the population, the insurgents didn't cause any human damage, but they did take a number of residents' possessions.
According to the residents quoted by VOAThe raid took place at around 8.43am and they left the village at 10am, taking various goods that had been looted from the stores of local traders.
"So far, there has been no reaction from the local authorities," reads the portal.
This is the third insurgent attack this year in Quissanga, in the south of Cabo Delgado province.
