Mozambican experts defend the economic integration of the families who were victims of the terrorist attacks in Cabo Delgado.
According to the rector of the Joaquim Chissano University, Jamisse Taimo, the current model of assistance to the victims of armed violence in Cabo Delgado does not solve the problem of the displaced, but on the contrary perpetuates the situation of beggars, because many of them have lost everything they had in life.
Cited by VOATaimo believes that only clearer and more concrete projects can resolve the situation of the thousands affected by terrorism in Cabo Delgado.
"I think it's time for us to mobilize as a society to try to establish a permanent assistance program that can guarantee that after people leave the emergency situation, they won't continue to beg," he said.
Meanwhile, researcher and political analyst João Feijó argues that measures are needed, especially in the socio-economic field, to get people producing and to integrate them economically, "because it's not sustainable to be feeding thousands of people indefinitely".
According to the same publication, businessman Assif Ossumane also stresses the need for society to mobilize to assist the victims of the violence in Cabo Delgado "because we have broken families and people who have lost everything they had accumulated in life because of this war".
