The terrorist attacks in Cabo Delgado, in northern Mozambique, are causing a new wave of displaced people. For analyst Tomás Queface, "the way the government and the Defense Forces are dealing with the attacks is worrying".
In a publication by VOAThe researcher believes that the insurgents have seen the Mozambican forces as the weakest in the conflict, frequently attacking them and forcing them to abandon certain positions, as in the case of Mucojo earlier this year.
According to the analyst, from that point, the insurgent groups advanced "dramatically" to the south, crossing the district of Quissanga and spreading to the districts of Metuge, Ancuabe, Mecufi and Chiúre, with little response from the Defense Forces.
