Cabo Delgado: Avaria deixa 350 clientes da EDM às escuras

Around 350 customers of the company Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) are in the dark due to the collapse of an electricity transformer, caused by a road accident in the Alto Gingone neighborhood, in the city of Pemba, Cabo Delgado province.

On the other hand, there was an anomaly at the Tavene Intermediate Substation, in Gaza Province, causing an interruption in the electricity supply to around 60,000 customers in all the districts of the Xai-Xai Municipality, namely the Patrice Lumumba, Chilaulene, Zimilene, Inhamissa, Marien Ngouabi, Praia de Xai-Xai, Fidel Castro and Ndambine 2000 districts.

In a statement, EDM informs that for precautionary purposes, during the repair of the anomaly, the electrical equipment in the affected areas should be considered to be permanently live.

EDM regrets the inconvenience these situations are causing to affected customers and the general public.
