The work to implement the long-awaited bus rapid transit (BRT) system for public passenger transport in the greater Maputo metropolitan region is due to be launched in two weeks.
The guarantee was given a few days ago by the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mateus Magala, in Maputo during a conference in which he also made known his ministry's plans for the next two years.
Magala also revealed that the plan is to build roads in the city and province of Maputo, in order to improve transport mobility.
It should be noted that the operation of the BRT will allow more than 100,000 people to be transported quickly every day.
