The Brazilian government expresses its solidarity with Mozambique in the aftermath of Cyclone Chido and sends its condolences to the families of the victims.
In a statement quoted by Rádio Moçambique, the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the government had received with regret the news of victims and material damage caused by cyclone CHUIDO in Mozambique and the Union of the Comoros earlier this week.
The Brazilian executive also said that the embassy in Maputo is available to assist Brazilians in emergency situations.
The level four tropical cyclone Chido, which hit the northern part of the country, has killed more than 70 people in the provinces of Cabo Delgado, Nampula and Niassa and destroyed many socio-economic infrastructures.
