BP has reached an agreement with Puma Energies Mozambique for the sale of all the assets of its aviation fuel business in Mozambique.
This is what was left of BP's operations in the Mozambican market, after it divested itself of the fuel retail business that was sold to TotalEnergies in 2021, writes Revista Económico.
Thus, Puma Energy will take over the business in seven airports in the country, namely Maputo, Vilanculos, Beira, Tete, Quelimane, Nampula and Pemba, activities that include the operation of aviation fuel storage, as well as into-plane refueling infrastructures.
Thus, writes the magazine, the deal, which is only awaiting the green light from the Competition Regulatory Authority because it is a concentration of companies, also includes BP's contractual position in national logistics contracts, in three storage contracts at storage terminals in Matola, Beira and Nacala, and a 50% stake in Maputo International Airport Fueling Services (MIAFS) Limitada, a joint venture with PETROMOC for the design and construction of an aviation fuel depot, management of a fuel storage depot and into-plane equipment, including a hydrant/fueling network at Maputo International Airport. This joint venture is limited to storage operations at Maputo International Airport.
