National Library creates digital collection

The National Library of Mozambique will create a digital collection by December this year to expand its services to the public, according to the institution's director, João Fenhane.

Quoted by NewsHe said that the National e-Government Institute will support the project, taking charge of setting up the IT infrastructure, establishing software adequate.

The government has already allocated 10 million meticais for the plan, and the collection should provide around 50,000 documents. The database will be linked to the provincial public libraries.

"After equipping the institution with state-of-the-art technologies, human resources will be trained to ensure digital management, cyber security and equipment maintenance," he said.
