As part of the Mozambican Women's Day celebrations, on Thursday, April 6, the BCI auditorium hosted the launch ceremony for the book 'Habits of Prosperity', by Mozambican writer Helena Raci.
Against the backdrop of a visual arts exhibition, literature and music came together in the same space, in the voice of Mozambican singer Xixel Langa, and in the presence, among others, of renowned Mozambican artistic and literary figures.
According to the BCI's Public Relations Director, Heisler Castelo David, "this book has the grace of being launched in the middle of Mozambican Women's Day celebrations.
In this regard, Helena Raci has the following message from the book: 'Everything we want is right here, within the reach of each one of us. All we have to do is develop the capacity, desire and will to receive. The first manifestation of receiving is giving,' he said and added: 'We as a bank are here to give our full support to the arts and culture. This is our commitment. This is our mission.
"I chose to write the book as a woman's book because I'd like people who are going to read it, whether they're men or women, to be able to see what's here through women's eyes," said Helena Raci, in tribute to women.
She continued: "I want to say a word of thanks to all those women who have been through difficult times and who have never had the opportunity I have now to tell my story.
There are millions and millions of stories that have been lost". She concluded: "That's why I want to dedicate this book to you women... remember that your story is the most important story that humanity needs to hear."
For the book's presenter, Emídio de Oliveira, "the great thing about this book is reading... the problem isn't reading, it's understanding... it's experimenting, putting into practice, which is what we don't do. [...] She [the author] is saying that these habits of being happy are something she has chosen for herself. She's saying 'I want to learn these habits'. [...] None of you are obliged to follow. What you have to do is probably take the same journey."
