Electronic Arts' electronic warfare game series in partnership with DICE, Battlefield, is the highlight of game releases this week. It hits the public tomorrow, however, with a missing feature that will be available soon.
Missing from the game is something that some players may find crucial: voice chat. This feature will not come into the game until some time after launch, developer DICE told Polygon.
DICE has not explained what led to the exclusion of voice chat from Battlefield 2042 - a multiplayer war game. Nevertheless, the studio mentions that it is working on the feature and that it should be added soon after release, without specifying a date.
Synopsis
In the not too distant future, in 2042, the world experiences a war for resources between the powers United States of America and Russia while stateless refugees enter the battlefield. This is the story of Battlefield 2042, a game that focuses on online multiplayer combat and has no single-player campaign. Up to 128 players will be able to battle it out on next-gen consoles with access to new modes: PlayStation 4 and 5, Windows PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One.
