The National Migration Service in Sofala intercepted, in the first half of this year, 27 illegal immigrants who intended to enter the province through Beira International Airport.
According to information advanced by Radio Mozambique, the majority were of Somali and Kenyan nationality, and all were undocumented.
The provincial director of the National Migration Service in Sofala, João Ngonhamo, said that the institution has been intensifying control at all the province's borders.
The source, who was speaking on the occasion of the forty-seventh anniversary of the National Migration Service, called on the population to actively participate in the fight against illegal immigration through denunciations.
