Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he was interrupting his visit to South Africa to return to Ukraine, following the Russian attacks that left at least nine people dead in Kiev.

Ukraine's emergency services have recorded a provisional death toll of nine and 63 injured, 42 of whom are in hospital, including six children, reports Notícias ao Minuto.

In the same message posted on social media, the Ukrainian head of state said that he will return to Kiev after today's meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, canceling the rest of his visit to South Africa.

Zelensky condemned the Russian bombing of Ukraine and called on Russia to stop the attacks immediately.
