Attack on Iran: Iran's foreign minister accuses US of violating international law

Ataque ao Irão: Ministro dos Negócios Estrangeiros do Irão acusa EUA de violar o direito internacional

Iran's foreign minister accused the United States of violating the UN Charter and international law by attacking Iran's nuclear facilities.

"This morning's events are outrageous and will have eternal consequences. All UN members should be alarmed by this extremely dangerous, illegal and criminal behavior," said the Iranian minister in a statement quoted by the international press.

"It is now very clear to everyone that the regime that enjoys permanent membership of the Security Council does not respect any principle or morality and does not shy away from any illegality or crime in order to serve the objectives of a genocidal occupying regime," the ministry said, referring to the United States and then Israel.

He considered that these attacks, carried out in "criminal collusion" with Israel, "demonstrate once again the profound depravity and moral corruption that governs US policies".

The Foreign Ministry said that the Islamic Republic of Iran "reserves the right to resist US aggression with all its might".
