The circulation of vehicles between the village of Nametil and the administrative post of Nanhupo river in the district of Mogovolas, and the district of Angoche, in Nampula, has been interrupted since Monday due to the dragging of the metal structure mounted on the Mutacazi river, by the fury of rainwater.
The dragging of this metal structure left the population residing in the administrative post of Nanhupo rio isolated from the main town of Nametil, in the district of Mogovolas, a region where the inhabitants of Nanhupo rio depend on for shopping for basic foodstuffs, among others.
The Secretary of State of Nampula Province, Mety Gondola, who visited the place, prohibited the population from crossing the river with small boats, because it can cause loss of life, since there is a strong current of rainwater.
Gondola explained to Notícias, that from the information he had, the metal structure that is isolated from the place where it had been fixed can be reused. At this moment, for the population to reach the district of Angoche, they must use the alternative road that gives access to the district of Moma, covering a distance of over 200 kilometers.
