On Friday, the Assembly of the Republic (AR) approved the Government's Five-Year Plan (PQG) for the current cycle of governance, 2025-2029, with 190 votes from MPs.
Despite the disagreements between MPs from the four parliamentary benches, which resulted in 26 votes against approval, the Frelimo party believes that the instrument reflects the prospects for answers to the people's wishes.
The same perspective of solving the people's problems is shared by the largest opposition force, PODEMOS, which, despite having presented a negative opinion on the PQG in question, voted in favor.
Renamo and the MDM voted against approving the instrument.
For Renamo, the PQG of Daniel Chapo's government is nothing new and will perpetuate the misery of the Mozambican population.
The MDM justifies its vote against on the grounds that it doesn't clearly present the goals that are to be achieved.
