The Minister of Land and Environment, Ivete Maibaze, has just presented the Maputo declaration on miombo woodlands, a document approved by 10 countries in the region, in what was the high point of the first regional conference on sustainable and integrated management of miombo woodlands held in the capital of the country.

She said that the intention of the signatories of the declaration is that the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, will lead the joint initiative for the preservation of this forest resource.

In the declaration, the countries commit themselves to developing joint actions to preserve this resource.
