The National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) has seized around half a ton of cocaine-type drugs at the Port of Maputo.
SERNIC spokesman Hilário Lole explained that the jerry cans aroused the agents' suspicions. When they were opened, it was discovered that they contained white substances.
According to Lole, the tests showed that it was cocaine.
The drug was being transported on a boat from India. It was disguised in 25-liter drums, along with construction materials, in a container.
No people have yet been arrested in connection with the case.
