Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, 85, had "sex slaves" at parties he hosted at his residences with young women, the Milan prosecutor's office assured Wednesday..
During the politician's trial on charges of bribing witnesses in the so-called "Ruby Ter" case, Deputy Prosecutor Tiziana Siciliano stated that "the then prime minister used to systematically enliven his evenings by receiving groups of odalisques, paid sex slaves, at his home."
In the indictment, he considered that "these facts have already gone down in history," regardless of the assessments that the courts make now.
The "Ruby Ter" case, which tries to clarify whether the tycoon bribed witnesses in other cases to lie about what happened at his parties, is carried out by the Court of Milan, but because of its broad implications, it has been divided into different branches in Turin, Pescara, Treviso, Monza and Siena.
In the latter, the court, quoted by Lusa, acquitted Berlusconi and the pianist who used to be at his parties, Danilo Mariani, last October, considering that it was not proven that he bribed the musician not to testify against him.
The deputy prosecutor said that in Berlusconi's residences there was "something morally questionable, medieval, incredible" going on, a "horrible violence against women" that today is "viewed with disgust."
Emilio Fede, a journalist for Mediaset, the audiovisual group owned by the tycoon's family, was mentioned in the indictment as the person who "offered" the girls to the "sultan" to "complete the harem."
The former prime minister was a man "who could have the world at his feet, with friendships like that of [Russian President Vladimir] Putin, who is now bringing the world to its knees," but now "he is an old man, a sick man," Siciliano added.
In 2015, Berlusconi was acquitted by the Italian Supreme Court in the "Ruby" case, nickname of the young Moroccan girl Karima el Mahroug, with whom the politician had sexual relations when she was a minor, and then the " Rubi bis" case in which some of his collaborators were convicted.
The three-time prime minister, who won the 2020 covid-19 and has been hospitalized on several occasions in recent months for various problems, including heart problems, did not attend the court hearings citing health problems.
