ANAMOLA asks Chapo to reply to letter requesting to join the TOC

ANAMOLA exige a Chapo resposta a carta de pedido para integrar a COTe

The National Alliance for a Free and Autonomous Mozambique (ANAMOLA) is demanding that the President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, respond to a letter requesting that he be integrated into the Technical Commission for National and Inclusive Dialogue (COTE).

According to Venâncio Mondlane, ANAMOLA's interim president, with his political support group having been formed into a party, the conditions for its integration into COTE were already in place.

"There was no response, neither saying yes nor saying no," he said.

The same letter was shared and "ignored" by the parties that signed the Inclusive National Dialogue, the European Union and some civil society organizations.

Since then, according to Mondlane, the party has only received an invitation on the eve of the national launch of the public consultation on the Dialogue. This, for Mondlane, is what explains the boycott of the event.

"We protested against this, and we demand that they answer our letter to this day. We want to be part of the dialogue and share ideas, but they must answer our letter, saying yes or no," he said.
