Dozens of people gathered today in front of the Balcão de Atendimento Único (BAÚ) building, on Josina Machel Avenue in Maputo City, demanding answers to their requests for licenses for mobile wallet activities.
They were given tickets last Monday, with the promise that they would be seen today. However, when they got there, none of them received a permit, which led them to protest in front of the institution.
According to a source quoted by the portal Newspaper NewsBy 12 noon, not a single person from the group of claimants had been assisted.
Another mobile wallet agent complains about the lack of information from BAÚ employees.
"We arrived more than four hours ago and they haven't told us anything, apart from that they're meeting and that we'll have a definitive answer soon (...). To make matters worse, we have to have this document by Friday, otherwise our accounts will be blocked," he said.
For his part, the BAÚ representative said that the people who rioted at the site were looking for services that were not within the institution's remit.
"These people carry out their activity in a public space that is under the municipality's jurisdiction. We deal with business issues here, not mobile wallet services," he said.
