Deputy Aires Aly was elected, this Thursday, by acclamation, vice-chairman of the SADC parliamentary group for the next three years.
The election took place during the work of the fourth ordinary session of the fifth Pan-African Parliament, which is being held in the South African city of Midrand.
In the race for the presidency of the Southern African Parliamentary group, Aires Aly won nineteen votes against twenty for South Africa's Pemmy Majodina.
