Drinking water will reach more than 500,000 people in seven provinces

The government, in partnership with the UK, aims to get drinking water to more than 500,000 people in seven provinces of the country by next July.

The information was given by the Minister of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, Carlos Mesquita, during the launching of the construction projects of forty-five water supply systems, in Chigubo, Gaza province.

"The Project is part of the national program for rural water supply and sanitation. For success, our government counts on the support of cooperation partners in the search for resilient and sustainable solutions to the problem of lack of water and sanitation in our communities," said Mesquita.

The 45 water supply systems will be built in the provinces of Maputo, Gaza, Inhambane, Tete, Nampula, Manica, and Zambézia, in an investment of more than 680 million meticais financed by the United Kingdom.
