The South African authorities today suspended vehicle traffic to Mozambique through the Lebombo border crossing (Ressano Garcia) due to the electoral protests.
According to a South African television channel, only light vehicles and people are allowed to cross. Until midday, the cargo trucks were about three kilometers long, lined up to cross into Mozambique.
A citizen who crossed the border to the South African side told the broadcaster that, according to the demonstrators, the protests could be suspended when it's around 5pm, when trucks will possibly be allowed through. "But for now, everyone should stop," he said.
