In its December issue, New African, an African magazine, published a list of the 100 most influential African personalities of 2022 in various fields of activity.

Mozambican civil society activist Adriano Nuvunga is one of the people considered by the publication to be an indefatigable warrior against corruption.

The list released this year by New African is divided into several categories, including politics, business, civil society, the press, religion and tradition, the environment, among others.

The magazine notes that, as a civil society activist, Adriano Nuvunga fights courageously against corruption in Mozambique. As director of the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), Nuvunga leads an organization that focuses on democracy, youth, leadership and development, seeking change and transformation.

In the past, he headed the Centre for Public Integrity (CIP), a civil society organization that fights against corruption and for transparency in elections and governance. Nuvunga teaches Political Science at the Eduardo Mondlane University in Maputo.

He has published articles highlighting the need for accountability in governance. Although he is the visible face of criticism against corruption and despite the dangers this exposure poses, he remains a passionate defender of integrity and human rights. (Letter)
