Access Bank supports Lin Group in blood collection for the National Health Service

Access Bank apoia Grupo Lin na recolha de sangue para o Serviço Nacional de Saúde

Access Bank Mozambique was one of the sponsors of the Health Fair held on Saturday, August 27, in one of the commercial establishments of the city of Maputo, by Lin Medcare, a private clinic belonging to Lin Group.

The initiative marked the culmination of a series of blood collection sessions headed by the aforementioned Group, between August 22 and 27.

The action took place in various points of the capital, as part of the National Blood Donor Day celebrations.

With the slogan "It's Not Just Blood. It's Hope," the campaign resulted in a donation of 269 balloons that will be distributed to the blood storage centers in Maputo.

The Health Fair also presented itself as a gateway to bring health services and the community closer together, with the aim of informing and raising awareness about improving quality of life, encouraging disease prevention and positive behavioral change.

It also served to promote healthy living habits, physical exercise, lectures, and various tests in the areas of women's health, mental health, occupational, oral, aesthetic, and physical health.

At the same time, a campaign was held to raise funds for the construction of a 'Mother Waiting House', which aims to assist pregnant women who live far from medical centers, thus reducing the high rates of maternal-infant mortality, as well as HIV/AIDS transmission between mother and child during childbirth, due to lack of assistance to pregnant women.

Access Bank's contribution to this initiative reaffirms the bank's ongoing commitment to strengthen blood storage and keep it available at conservation centers across the country.

It should be noted that this year, for the second consecutive year, Access Bank held the campaign "Donate Blood, Share Life" in all provinces where it operates, which resulted in the collection of 250 bags of blood.

The director of Corporate Communication at Access Bank, Bruno Gaspar, reiterated the bank's intention to ensure the well-being of Mozambicans, through the involvement in different areas of interest.

"Our strategy is to position ourselves as a key partner in all initiatives that promote the country's development and improve people's living conditions. Regardless of the area of action, we will continue to intervene in all the actions that share our purpose," said the official.

"We are aware of the difficulties faced by the National Health System, especially when it comes to blood management, given the abnormal and unpredictable circumstances in which the need for its use is triggered, often derived from road accidents.

On the other hand, public health services, in general, are fragile, justifying constant initiatives to strengthen them," he added.

Since it started its activity in Mozambique in 2020, Access Bank Mozambique has been developing and supporting several social activities, promoting awareness campaigns in different areas of health.

With this action, the bank reinforces its commitment to Mozambique and to Mozambicans, contributing to the well-being of all.
