Absa Bank garante continuar a promover literacia financeira na juventude moçambicana

Absa Bank Moçambique was present at the 3rd Prime Education Fair, held recently in the city of Maputo. Represented by the Head of Retail and Business Banking, Martha Humbane, the Bank reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the education and financial development of young Mozambicans.

During the event, which brought together around 300 participants, Martha Humbane highlighted Absa's various initiatives aimed at training and financial inclusion of young people. She emphasized the importance of the "Ready to Work" programme, which since 2016 has trained more than 18,000 young people, preparing them for the job market through comprehensive training in professional, interpersonal and financial skills.

"Ready to Work not only prepares young people for employment, but also equips them with essential life skills," said Martha Humbane, stressing that this program is a very strong tool for empowering young people and opening doors to opportunities that can change their lives.

In addition, Martha Humbane highlighted Absa's financial literacy campaigns, which have reached a wide audience. "Financial literacy is crucial for young people to make informed choices and plan for a secure financial future. Our campaigns, including in national languages, have facilitated the understanding of financial concepts and promoted financial inclusion across the population," said the Head of Retail and Business Banking.

The educational fair, organized by Prime Education, an academic agency specializing in placing students abroad, had the main objective of connecting students to world-class universities and providing academic guidance. With the presence of Absa Bank Mozambique, the event took on an additional dimension, also focusing on financial literacy and the development of essential skills for young people's success.

During her speech, Martha Humbane underlined Absa's ongoing commitment to contributing to the country's sustainable development. "Our role goes beyond providing financial services. We are dedicated to contributing to the well-being of the communities where we operate, especially through the education and empowerment of young people," she concluded.

With initiatives such as "Ready to Work" and financial literacy campaigns, Absa Bank Mozambique continues to play a crucial role in creating an inclusive educational and financial ecosystem. These initiatives not only promote sustainable economic and social progress in the country, but also inspire a new generation of young Mozambicans to reach their full potential.
