The Standing Committee of the Assembly of the Republic (AR) has scheduled the start of the first ordinary session of the body in its 10th Legislature for the 26th of this month, and it should run until May 28th.
According to a NewsAlso approved were 26 matters to be dealt with during the three months of debate, including the Government's Five-Year Program (2025-2029) and the respective draft resolution; the draft law on the Economic and Social Plan and State Budget (PESOE) for 2025; the resolution on the National Development Strategy (ENDE) 2025-2044; and also the Information and Questions to the Government.
According to the spokesman for the Standing Committee, Manuel Ramessane, the session will also consider the Annual Report of the Attorney General; the General State Account for 2023; the resolution electing the members of the Council of State and the revision of the law approving the Organic Law of the Assembly of the Republic and its Rules of Procedure.
Also on the agenda was the debate and approval of the draft resolutions electing the members of the National Defense and Security Council; ratifying the appointment of the President of the Administrative Court and Vice-President of the Supreme Court; the Judge-Counsellor of the Constitutional Council, as well as the proposal for the Assembly of the Republic's program of activities and its budget for 2025.
The body will also approve the resolution electing the members of the Superior Council of the Administrative Judiciary and the National Human Rights Commission.
It is also planned that this session will debate the information from the Committee on Petitions, Complaints and Claims and the draft resolution on the creation of the Parliamentary Leagues of Friendship, Solidarity and Cooperation.
