The Estrela Vermelha Pavilion in Maputo will host the Zone IV African Boxing Championships from February 26 to March 2.

The regional event counts towards the 2028 Olympic Games and will be attended by countries from the region, including South Africa, Angola, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Lesotho, Namibia, Tanzania and Malawi, as well as the host country, Mozambique.

The Mocambican Boxing Federation has not yet released the list of boxers who will be representing the country, but it is not expected that there will be anything new

The Mozambican Boxing Federation's aim for this event is to get as many boxers into the finals of the various categories as possible, as well as to win the greatest number of medals, with a view to maintaining its hegemony in the sport in the region.
