The Ministry of Finance says it is working in accordance with the 2024-2025 medium-term debt strategy to reduce the National Public Debt Service.

The Ministry of Finance clarified in a statement quoted by Rádio Moçambique that in relation to domestic debt, reforms are underway in the structure and functioning of the public securities market with a view to efficiency and reducing domestic public financing costs.

With regard to foreign debt, the department states in the same document that the government will continue to work to negotiate bilateral foreign debt in order to achieve sustainability.
