Daniel Chapo calls for peace among Mozambicans and says he is willing to serve the people

Daniel Chapo apela à manutenção da paz entre os moçambicanos e diz estar disposto a servir ao povo

The candidate declared the winner by the Constitutional Council, Daniel Chapo, called for peace to be maintained among Mozambican citizens, promising to be ready to serve the Mozambican nation for the next five years.

In his first speech after the election results were announced, Chapo said on Monday night (23) at the Frelimo party headquarters that the Mozambique desired by all "will only be possible with unity and without divisions".

"The country belongs to all Mozambicans. Governing means serving the people and not serving yourself," said Daniel Chapo.

The winning Frelimo candidate also promised to take care of the Mozambican people as he takes care of the Mozambican family, planning to implement reforms to the electoral system, and stressed the need to work together for the country's progress.

On the same occasion, Daniel Chapo showed solidarity with the families affected by the recent demonstrations and extended the spirit of solidarity to the public and private sectors.
