The Association of the Mozambican Community in Texas, USA, has already sent a note of repudiation against the violent demonstrations in Mozambique, said President Glória Sumbana.
"Demonstration is a right, but when it becomes violent and we start to see loss of human life and property, the situation becomes worrying. Our position is not to point fingers," he noted.
In an interview with VOA, he said that the note should reach political parties and electoral institutions through the embassy. The document also calls for the demonstrations to be peaceful.
"It's the position we have, because, as a diaspora, our dream is to bring our families, our friends, and encourage development in Mozambique," he said.
He said that the parties must accept the election results "whatever they are" and work together.
