A group of more than two dozen citizens from the Mozambican community living in Lisbon marched in the streets of that European city in Portugal on Saturday in support of the marches and demonstrations promoted by the independent presidential candidate, Venâncio Mondlane.
Some holding signs, others placards, flags of the Podemos party and of the Republic of Mozambique shouting Venâncio no Poder in unison.
The march started in front of the Mozambican embassy and continued to Praça do Comércio.
The Mozambicans, who sang songs of revolution and the national anthem "Beloved Homeland", called for an end to police violence against demonstrators and criticized the Frelimo candidate, Daniel Chapo.
Supporters of the protest movement believe that the people have reached an unacceptable standard of living and that the way out is regime change.
In addition, the "allies" of Venâncio Mondlane praised the attitude of the police in Lisbon, which is different to that adopted by the Mozambican police.
