A group of young people, supporters of the Podemos party and candidate Venâncio Mondlane, have already packed their bags for Maputo city, as part of the second phase of marches against electoral fraud. They have decided to walk to the country's capital.
"We are here to say that we have joined forces to rescue a new Mozambique, which belongs to everyone, which makes us proud to be and to be here. As young people, we feel obliged to be part of this revolution. This revolution is worthy," said Jonathan Suleimane.
This week, presidential candidate Venâncio Mondlane used his social networks to call for a stoppage of activities for a period of eight days. He also called for a march from all the provinces of Mozambique towards Maputo city.
"We are willing to take the risk that circumstances and time will bring, but we will defend our flag," said the Podemos representative.
He stressed the need to build a country where moral values, freedom of expression, integrity and the press are respected.
According to the group's representative, the rights of Mozambicans have been mortgaged and marginalized. "They have prostituted our dreams as young people".
