The Mozambican Bar Association (OAM) suggests that the Constitutional Council (CC) return the Minutes of the National Centralization and General Tabulation of Results to the National Electoral Commission (CNE).
For the lawyers, the CC must, within a certain period, investigate all the irregularities recognized by the CNE, especially the discrepancy in numbers in the current electoral process.
In a communiqué that focuses on the inefficiency of the CNE and takes it as the center of the social demonstrations, the OAM says that the CC should "begin the process of global analysis and discussion of the process, this time in a public session that can count on at least the presence of the representatives of the presidential candidates and the political parties, as well as the media and national and international observers".
He also believes that the minutes and notices produced by all polling stations should be published nationwide, or that the votes should be recounted nationwide and the respective notices posted.
The lawyers believe that if the suggestions cannot be complied with, the CNE and the CC should be able to assume the social consequences.
