On Sunday, the Optimist Party for the Development of Mozambique (Podemos) submitted to the Constitutional Council (CC) documentary evidence of the victory of Venâncio Mondlane and the political formation in the October 9, 2024 general elections.
According to Podemos party leader Dinis Tivane, these are the documents used to carry out the parallel count. He said that the data pointed to the victory of the independent candidate with around 53,30% of the votes.
"These 53.30 are the results of some minutes and notices that have already been hammered out. We went through a maximum of 71% of processing, of our material... and we think that this is a significant sample that allows us to know what voter behavior is," he noted.
The minutes and notices amount to around 300kg sent to the National Electoral Commission. On the other hand, the evidence collected at the polling stations shows that, for parliament, the party won 138 seats, against 91 for Frelimo.
Tivane stressed that the party will continue to march for the restoration of electoral truth. "And that is until this regime collapses, gets down on its knees before the people."
