The National Electoral Commission (CNE) has rejected a request from the EU, political parties, lawyers and civil society for polling station notices to be made public in an organized manner.
His justification is that the law (Law 15/2024 of August 23, art. 119) says that the CNE's count is based on district and provincial notices and, therefore, polling station notices are outside its mandate.
But the law (Law no. 15/2024 of August 23, Section II) also requires that information from polling station notices be sent to the CNE. In fact, most district notices already contain this information.
STAE and CNE could then compile and publish the results of polling stations, as they have done in the past. (CIP Eleições)
