The Mozambican and international press following the progress of the protests were attacked with tear gas bullets during an interview with the presidential candidate, Venâncio Mondlane, a few moments ago, in the square of the Mozambican Women's Organization (OMM), in the center of Maputo.
The police pointed and fired at the journalists and the candidate, who were forced to stop their work.
At that moment, everyone scattered wherever they could. The presidential candidate was rushed to a vehicle near the Heart Institute and the Canadian consulate. In fact, the PRM fired tear gas where Venâncio Mondlane was seeking shelter.
Information in our possession indicates that seven people, including two journalists, were injured in the police raid and taken to a medical facility.
