PODEMOS and MDM are contesting Chapo's victory and Frelimo is demanding the annulment of the elections in Gaza province, considering that they were fraudulent.
The two parties called the press on Wednesday afternoon to repudiate the figures announced by the Provincial Electoral Commission.
"It's a victory stolen from the people. We are aware that we won the election, but it's clear that there was stuffing, bribery of the candidate delegates," said Amândio Hoguana, spokesman for PODEMOS, quoted in the newspaper "O País".
"The results are totally flawed, there were four districts where MDM MMVs were excluded from the process," says Agnaldo Navalha.
The two political groups say that the October 9 elections were marred by various electoral illicitities, and are therefore demanding that the vote be annulled.
Meanwhile, Frelimo says that the results reflect the will of the people and calls on its opponents to conform.
"I wanted them to respect the popular will of Gaza province," concluded Daniel Matavele, First Secretary of the Frelimo party.
