The results of the national tabulation so far point to a historically negative outcome for Renamo.

According to the bulletin of the Center for Public Integrity (CIP), which is monitoring the elections, these results mean that Renamo is no longer the main opposition political force in the country for the first time since 1994. PODEMOS is now the second political force, with 31 deputies.

As a result, Frelimo increased its position in Parliament with 193 MPs, while the MDM only got four MPs.

The data is still provisional. They will be final once they have been validated by the Constitutional Council. But at the moment, the National Electoral Commission is centralizing the data and could release the results of the national tabulation by next week.
