INAM predicts continued strong winds and a sharp drop in temperature

INAM prevê continuação de ventos fortes e descida acentuada da temperatura

The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) predicts that there will continue to be strong winds with gusts of up to 60 kilometers per hour, which could stir up the sea and generate waves of up to 60 kilometers per hour south of the 15 degree parallel.

In a statement released today, the institution also forecasts locally moderate light rain, local thunderstorms and gusty winds in the districts of Sofala, Manica, Tete and Zambézia provinces from this afternoon and a sharp drop in temperature for tomorrow.

"At the end of the day, a sharp drop in the maximum temperature is expected, as well as rain and local winds with gusts in the coastal districts of Maputo, Gaza and Inhambane provinces," the document adds.

Against this backdrop, INAM is calling for precautionary and safety measures.
