Dissatisfied with the direction of the election results, Renamo in the Nampula district called on the press this Friday morning to demand the head of Ossufo Momade, the party's presidential candidate.
Ossufo Ulane, the party's representative in the Nampula district, said that due to the defeats that the party and its presidential candidate have suffered in almost all the polling stations in the 23 districts of the province, it was urgent that Ossufo Momade step down, according to the newspaper Ngani.
Ossufo Ulane also called for the ouster of Abiba Aba, the frontrunner for governor of Nampula, for being one of the mentors behind the party's recent failure.
Also quoted in the newspaper, Ulane added that if Momade prevails in office, the members and supporters of Partridge will take drastic measures for the sake of democracy.
However, the second largest opposition party in Nampula is awaiting the decision of the party's National Council on the request.
