Lutero Simango denounces ban on his members focusing on voting at polling stations

Lutero Simango denuncia proibição dos seus membros de focalizar a votação nas mesas de voto

The presidential candidate of the Democratic Movement of Mozambique (MDM), Lutero Simango, called on the National Electoral Commission (CNE) to comply with the Electoral Law.

Speaking after casting his vote, Simango complained that members of his party were allegedly prevented from focusing on voting at polling stations.

He called on the electoral bodies to correct the situation, which in his view could constitute fraud. He said he would be vigilant and promised to react if the situation "persists".

According to a Sunday newspaperThe presidential candidate of the Democratic Movement of Mozambique, Lutero Simango, has already exercised his right to vote at Josina Machel Secondary School in Maputo city.

However, the CNE has assured that the complaints made by the MDM, through its presidential candidate Lutero Simango, will be investigated, adding that the STAE in Maputo city will hold a session in which various aspects related to the process will be analyzed, including the alleged impediments to MDM members being able to follow the vote.
