The National Meteorological Institute (INAM) is forecasting good weather throughout most of the country today, October 9, the day of the seventh general elections.
According to a warning issued yesterday, there is a slight possibility of showers in the coastal areas of the south and north of Cabo Delgado and Niassa in the early hours.
According to meteorologist Acácio Tembe, "this phenomenon shouldn't affect turnout at polling stations".
"The maximum temperatures could vary from 28 to 30 degrees Celsius in the provinces of Maputo, Gaza, Inhambane, Sofala, Manica and Niassa, while in Tete, Zambézia, Nampula and Cabo Delgado the maximum temperatures will be between 31 and 34 degrees Celsius," he said.
Nonetheless, INAM has guaranteed that it will continue to monitor the weather, calling on the population to continue to follow the meteorological information and warnings issued by the competent national authorities.
