The Commander-in-Chief of the Defense and Security Forces, Filipe Nyusi, said yesterday in Maputo that a battle against terrorist groups has been underway since the 24th of this month in Muvojo, Cabo Delgado province.

"I want to encourage the young people who at the moment continue to fight in Mucojo, since yesterday evening," (24) said Nyusi, quoted by "Notícias."

"We have control of the situation and we hope that within a few hours the FDS will regain full control of Mucojo," said the Commander-in-Chief.

Nyusi was speaking during the celebrations for the Day of the Armed Defense Forces of Mozambique (FADM), in Maputo city, on Avenida 10 de Novembro.

It should be noted that for more than six years the province of Cabo Delgado has been experiencing terrorist attacks, which have led to a military response since July 2021, with support from Rwanda and the Southern African Development Community.
