Mozambique should stop importing food in the next few years - Lutero Simango

Moçambique deve deixar de importar alimentos nos próximos anos – Lutero Simango

The presidential candidate of the Democratic Movement of Mozambique (MDM), Lutero Simango, said today in the Tsangano district of Tete that during his administration he will invest in agriculture so that the country stops importing food.

"We're going to develop agriculture on the basis of two strands, family farming and commercial farming," he said.

According to Luther, agricultural management methods can foster economic progress, either by generating income for families or by creating jobs.

The same promises of change were made in Angónia, the district that served as the gateway to Tete.

"Mozambique should stop importing food in the next few years. Therefore, my governance strategy is to lay the foundations for agriculture to be, in fact, the basis for national development and local industry," he said.

After completing his activities in Tsangano, Lutero Simango will go vote hunting in the Moatize district and in the city of Tete.
