More than 60 people died on Friday afternoon (09) as a result of a plane crash in a residential area of the city of Vinhedo, about 80 km from São Paulo, Brazil.
According to local media reports, which point to 61 or 62 people on board the VoePass Linhas Aéreas aircraft, there were no survivors of the incident.
Flight 2283 left Cascavel (PR) at 11:46 a.m. for Guarulhos airport (SP) and was carrying 57/8 passengers and four crew members. There were no survivors, they write.
Firefighters, the Military Police and Civil Defense sent teams to the scene. The authorities have already tried to preserve the aircraft's black box. The causes of the accident have not yet been revealed, but rain and strong wind may have been at the root.
This case joins 108 other air accidents detected by the Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (Cenipa) this year - an average of one every two days. In the official report, there were 27 fatal accidents and 49 deaths. The figure does not include the victims of the crash in Vinhedo.
