The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, said yesterday in Sofala that 89% of the 4115 former Renamo guerrillas have now been integrated into the social security system.
"Approximately five years ago, on August 1st, Gorongosa National Park was the scene of the signing of the Agreement for the Definitive Cessation of Military Hostilities, which allowed us, in addition to peace, to register a development in conservation activities," said Nyuisi quoted by "Notícias."
Nyusi was speaking at the celebrations for the International Day of the Forest and Wildlife Inspector, the central ceremony of which took place in Gorongosa National Park, curiously enough, the place where the agreement for the cessation of military hostilities between Renamo and the government was signed.
