The Democratic Alliance Coalition (CAD) assures that it is confident that the candidacy will be accepted despite the suspense that hangs over the announcement of the final lists of contestants for the October 9 general elections at the National Electoral Commission (CNE).
CAD is the only competitor that has yet to see its lists published by the CNE, although it claims to have submitted the files within the established deadlines.
In a publication by CartamozThe CAD's trustee, Elvino Dias, reiterated that there are no irregularities that could bring down the coalition's dream of being part of the next legislature.
"We are hopeful that common sense will prevail, because there are no reasons to reject our candidacy," said the CAD leader.
The CNE has postponed the release of the final lists of contestants for the October 9 general elections until next Wednesday, October 17.
According to the 2024 electoral calendar, approved by Resolution No. 7/CNE/2024 of February 1, the CNE should have published the final lists of contestants by Wednesday, July 10.
Meanwhile, the CNE points out that the postponement was due to the "late" reception of the candidacy of the Democratic Revolution party, following the ruling, number 5/2024 of June 26. Because of this, it says that "readjustments need to be made".
Speaking to the press, CNE spokesman Paulo Cuinica said that "the reception, analysis and verification of the RD party's candidacies has had a perverse impact on the deadlines for the October 9 elections".
