The Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF), Amílcar Tivane, assured on Friday that there was a budget for election expenses, as well as for the payment of salaries for civil servants and municipal employees.
"Budget issues have to be seen in the context of the budget law. And in the case of the CNE, a budget allocation has been approved by law and is being implemented. So the budget is being implemented and we are going to work on it. The money is in the budget and we are implementing the budget," he said.
On the other hand, the deputy minister said that pay issues in the civil service have been taken care of, despite occasional delays.
"Salary matters are under control. Payments are being made within a script, in the sense that this script is being observed. The conditions of financial availability are in place. We will continue to do our job. And if there are occasional delays, we will investigate the reasons and resolve them," he said.
Tivane was speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the 15th edition of the Bank of Mozambique's scientific conference.
